For fans of Fantasy novels, you have probably heard that the author, Robert Jordan, passed away on September 16, 2007. His real name was James Oliver Rigney, Jr. He died from Amyloidosis, a rare blood disorder. He left unfinished his epic series of books, The Wheel of Time. He had written 11 of the books, and had the outline for the 12th when he became sick. During his illness, his blog, Dragonmount, was very active with good wishes from fans and fans of his series were able to tell him how much his books meant to them. Among these fans was a young author, Brandon Sanderson, who was a frequent visitor to Dragonmount. After Robert Jordan's death, his widow contacted Brandon Sanderson and asked if he would write the final novel of the Wheel of Time series using her late husband's notes, and he agreed.
